This is a small cupboard called a Butsudan. I made it in Sweet Chestnut with an Oak base. The top corners are dovetail joints, and the doors are hung on brass pins and sockets which you can’t see.

It’s not that often I get to repair a chair as nice as this one. It was made in 1988 by Roy Clement Smith. It had a broken leg and I managed to get some Cherry wood to make a new one.
