Coppiced wood is used for chair making and to make the under-frame of the table. The table top is made from mature Ash sawn and seasoned in planks. English Ash usually gets brown streaks in it as the tree gets older.

Here are two pictures of Bradfield woods in Suffolk. This wood has been continuously worked as a coppice since before 1252, so I am lucky to have such an amazing wood to supply me with the best coppiced Ash. Bradfield woods is also a site of special scientific interest.
The first picture shows the harvesting of coppiced Ash poles 6 to 8 inches in diameter, and the construction of a deer proof fence from brushwood.
The second picture shows a coppice ‘stool’ 7 years after the trees were cut down.
